The small team behind SaveStories
SaveStories is an anonymous Instagram story viewer with one extra habit: it lets you keep what you watch. Here is who makes it, why it exists, and what it does and doesn't do.
Who is behind it
SaveStories is built and run by SaveStories Media, a small independent team that also maintains other utilities around public web content. There is no venture funding and no sales department; the site pays for itself through the advertising you see around the result pages.
We are not affiliated with Instagram or Meta Platforms, Inc. in any way. We don't use their API with a logged-in account, we don't resell their data, and the only Instagram content that passes through the site is what an account has already published to everyone.
Why we built it
Stories were designed to disappear, and most of the time that is fine. But people keep asking the same question: how do I keep the one that matters? A recipe a friend posted, a concert clip, a product announcement, the behind-the-scenes from an event you organised. The standard answers are a screenshot (small, with your battery indicator baked in) or a screen recording (compressed twice, with notifications in it).
Neither of those is the story. The story is a vertical MP4 or a JPG sitting on a server, exactly as the creator exported it. SaveStories asks for that file and hands it to your browser. That's it. The whole product is a polite way of asking for something that is already public.
What it does and doesn't do

Three rules we keep
Original quality, always
No re-encoding, no watermark, no resizing. If the file looks bad, it looked bad when it was posted.
No account, ever
We never ask for Instagram credentials and never connect to your account. There is nothing to leak because there is nothing to hold.
Nothing left behind
Lookups run without a viewer session. The person whose story you saved sees exactly what they would have seen if you had never visited.
Forty languages, one tool
Every page on the site, from the home page to the longest guide, is written and maintained in 40 languages. The language menu in the header switches the whole site, and the result page for a username works the same in each of them.
